The funeral went well, fortunately.
The wake afterwards was in an interesting venue ( a pub where they had tribute acts). We had tea and cake for the first part, and then afterwards we had a full lunch. The table was set up in the middle of the dance floor!! I couldn't believe it, it reminded me of that Peter Kay series - can't remember what it was called.
Nana moved into her bungalow a week or so later, much to our relief - with help from a man with a van.
In amoungst all of this I had been applying for jobs, and I had a couple of interviews to go to. This involved all the preparation for presentations and actually getting down to Kent. Unfortunately for me, I didn't get them, and the feedback was not really much help. It often makes you wonder if people are ear marked for some jobs.
We then went off to France for a week, thinking we could have a rest - well that didn't really happen.
Our phones seemed to be ringing none stop. Firstly the friends that we were supposed to go with, didn't come with us, as one of them was poorly and had to go for a scan early in the week. They said they may come later, but then they didn't feel they were upto travelling, and so that was the end of that.
One of our cats had become ill and had to be taken to the vet - where the vet was quite concerned about an infection in his paw. So much so that he wanted to see him again as soon as we were back from holiday. We were therefore ringing the cattery and the vets for appointments etc.
I got a phone call to say that I hadn't got another one of the jobs I had applied for (my current job had been put at risk)and that I would be slotted into another post, one which I really, REALLY did not want. I was hysterical to say the least, I wanted to hand in my notice there and then. Fortunately my hubby was able to talk some sense into me.
We returned from France with a boot full of booze and an action plan for my return to my job, and no more rested than when we went - next time I am not having that mobile on!!
Until next time....
